I Was Here

I Was Here.jpg

I'm working for one of the political campaigns, and as we get closer to Tuesday's primary elections, I've been getting home close to midnight, and sometimes not getting home at all. It's exciting, I'm meeting so many interesting people and seeing how politics is really played out, and of course, that also means less time for pictures.

I found some time to go through some more of my Hawaii pictures. Outside of the Kauai Coffee farm, in the lot, with the rows upon rows of coffee trees behind it, sits a tree with waxy leaves. This wax can be scratched off without hurting the tree, and grows back in about a month. It's become the guestbook of the plantation, where everybody leaves a little mark, though that very idea makes you wonder about the affect of "making your mark" only to have to gone in 30 days. I always like to look at the previous pages of guestbooks and see the names of the people who have visited a decade before me.

I'm happy with how this picture came out - crisp subject, good foreground and nice background. When looking at it on the LCD of my camera I didn't imagine it would look this way.
