There's no rainbows in this third picture from the 2006 NYC Gay Pride Parade. I borrowed a friend's zoom lens for the parade so that I could take pictures just like this - portraits of the Queens!
I used Dave from Chromasia's pictures from the Blackpool Pride Parade as inspiration on the processing of this one. The exposure on the subject was spot on, but the background wasn't contrasty enough. Instead of going to one of the brightness/contrast sliders, I pulled out the burn tool. It's funny, when I did darkroom processing, burning/dodging was the first thing I learned, but I often forget it when I open up Photoshop. Here it brought out the subject quite well. I need to remember it more.
