
Taking pictures of animals is a lot different than taking pictures of people because they just won't stand still! This is especially a problem when i'm trying to take portrait-style pictures. I was circling around the elephant compound at the zoo for about 15 minutes before I was able to get him to give me a second look. I also think that the key to good elephant shots is either to get their expressions (they are rather expressive animals), or to get good texture. I went for the latter. I rather like the result though I had to crop a bit to get rid of an annoying wire that was going through the middle of the picture.
I've also noticed that the last three images I've posted all have a dominant vertical element on the left edge of the photo. No comment otherwise, just noticing.
