Sugar

Sugar.jpg

My favorite model agreed to be in a picture with my favorite animal, my bird Sugar. Birds are not very good about listening to what I want them to do, and so this picture took a little while to create. In addition, I had to experiment with the high angle of the shot, and had to try to make Sugar close enough to Mom without being so close that she would simply hop onto Mom's shoulder. Next I had to figure out how to get both models to look at me at the same time. Mom was great in making Sugar look at me, but in doing so often would stop looking at me herself. Anyway, fun shoot.

As far as the digital darkroom went, I wanted to drop off most of the background, making it seem as if it were in a isolated area, with minimal lighting. I had to figure out how to use a few of the masking tools, and then burned and dodged a bit.
