After taking care of things in the city, I headed back home to the suburbs for a little while. On the ride home from the train station, right in front of the big tree in town that's always decorated. I was at once shocked and impressed. My town, a town with I'd guess 10 jewish families, actually put up a menorah?
Suffice to say, I had to get a picture, so on the last ninght of hannukah, mom and I went out for a walk and a photoshoot. Mom figured out how to use her new Panasonic LZ2 (sweet camera, I must say), and I played arround with my wide angle. The hard part was balancing deciding on the lighting I wanted for the tree in the background. Too much and it would overpower the menorah, but too little and the picture seemed to lack substance. I think I ended up with a nice medium. Processing wise I needed to fix the perspective slightly, and I touched up the lighting once again.
So, a nice juxtaposition, a nice hannukah photo. I like it.
