Christmas at Rockefeller - The Tree

In talking to a friend who is still in China, she told me how lucky she thought I was to be in New York for the holidays. It struck me that I never really go downtown and see all the lights and the things that people who come to visit New York during the holidays generally do, and decided to try being a tourist in my own city.
It took me two trips down to Rockefeller Center to get pictures that I'm happy with. This picture I like because it's a perspective I haven't seen done before, and I think it's quite effective. There's an effective oreground, a background, and I'm happy about the colors. One problem is that I had to twist my body quite a bit to get in position, and as a result did not manage to keep the camera straight, and had to distort the picture a alittle bit. Still, I like the result.
Nikon D70 / Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM @ 17mm
f5.3 / 1/25" / +1EV / ISO 1600
PS: fixed alignment/distorted it
