Cheerios

The second shot ideda I had for this shoot was a picture of my bird doing what she love to do most in her life - eat. Often she likes to nibble on the necklace that either I or my mother are wearing, and so I tried to stage such a picture, getting Sugar fully stretched out, band of silver or gold clutched ini her beak, but alas, I couldn't get the height or the timing right.

Instead, we tried for a picture on the kitchen table of Sugar eating her second favorite food, Cheerios. I took a whole lot of pictures in order to get the timing right, but when reviewing my pictures afterwards this one suprised me. I had no idea she had a tongue! On secon thought, why wouldn't a bird have a tongue, they do need to taste what they're eating in order to know whether it is safe or not, but seeing it was quite different. I ended up having to choos between a slightly blurred picture where you could see her tongue, or a spot-on-crisp picture taken less than a second later, and I chose this one.

As far as photo critique goes, I like the reflection, and I like how the crumbs give the picture some horiontal balance. I think one thing that could be improved is the lighting, but I'm no expert there.
