I finally got over my laziness and am starting a photoblog. MT probably isn't the greatest way to have one, but it's what I know. I'll spend the next few days tinkering with the layout until I get something I like, but for now, it's more important that I have *something* up so that I'll keep shooting. I thought a self-portrait would be the best way to start this thing off. The next week or two will probably be pictures that I've been wanting to put up for weeks but did not yet have the website set up.
I'm not yet sure how much I'll be writing about each picture. I guess we'll see how it goes. I'm also not sure how I feel about putting manipulated photos on here. I supppose as long as I'm using Photoshop to help show the image I hadd reated in my head, then it's kosher.
This shot was taken while flying to Xian, China. Alone on the airplane, I took out my camera and was experimenting with out of focus elements when focusing on a reflection. The hardest part was getting the composition right as I wanted it. I eventually got one shot with the circle in the correct part of the frame, and one shot with my expression as I intended it. This image is a mix of the two.
