Macy's Parade II

Macy's Parade II.jpg

After yesterday's rather technical shot, I wanted a photo from the parade that showed the energy and excitement of the event. I love this photo for the expressions on the faces of the clown and of the kids (the previously mentioned short people I was so happy to be next to). You can see the utter joy there.

As for the photo, I spent a bit of the parade trying to capture a picture like this, and am rather happy with this result. I got the clown making contact with the kids, and it even was a clown on skates. However, the day was cloudy ad the colors sucked, and after fooling around with trying to get the grays to be more photogentic, I decided instead to make this my fist foray into the world of blacck and white photography. Still, I wasn't happy, so large doses of color was re-added to the clown and the kid. I do think the brightness and concentration of color work well in accentuating the emotions.
